A Porsche asks a lot from the tyre tyres that are fitted to it. The luxury car manufacturer has a reputation for delivering vehicles with high power, precise steering and - on most models - a staggered set-up.
Porsche also runs one of the strictest tyre-approval programmes in the industry. So the "right" tyre for your car isn't just the right size. It's comes down to the N-marking too.
This guide covers the best tyres for the models we fit most often. The 911, 718 Boxster and Cayman, Cayenne, Macan, Taycan and Panamera. With recommendations drawn from the tyres we've actually fitted to Porsches over the past 12–18 months.
Porsche & Michelin
Porsche co-develops model-specific tyres with a small group of manufacturers, and the approved version is tuned to that car.
For most owners that means:
- 911 / 718 (Boxster, Cayman): Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S
- Cayenne / Macan: Michelin Latitude Sport 3 or Pilot Sport 4 SUV
- Taycan: Michelin Pilot Sport 4 / 4 S in NF0 spec
- Panamera: Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S
Michelin has long been Porsche's strategic tyre partner and develops an N-marked tyre for almost every Porsche variant. Which is why it appears so often as the factory choice.
Whichever brand you pick, the two rules that matter most are: fit the correct N-marking, and match front to rear.
